'Navidad Nuestra'

The Mixed choir of Griffin, under the direction of Gerti Prossegger, and the Ensemble Helmut Ebner from the city of Ferlach (Austria) present the work Navidad Nuestra arranged by Reinhard Kuehr, choir singer, as soloists will perform mezzo-soprano Waltraud Mücher and tenor Siegfried Verhovnik.

Navidad Nuestra  (Our Christmas) is a work with music of Ariel Ramirez and text by Fleiz Luna composed in 1963 and first released a year later. It covers the birth of Jesus Christ in an ordered sequence of biblical Succeso: the Annunciation, the Pilgrimage, Nativity, Shepherds, the Magi and the Flight. For each part of the cantata the composer uses rhythms from different regions of Argentina.

The program is completed with traditional songs of the region of Carinthia in Austria.
