The American writer David Mamet wrote China Doll to be starred by Al Pacino, premiered at Broadway in 2015. Now Juan Carlos Rubio directs the first adaptation made of the original work, by Bernabé Rico and starring José Sacristán and Javier Godino.
In China Doll, Mamet gives voice to Mick Ross (José Sacristán), a self-made corrupt and vain multimillionaire whose moral lessons end up being against him.
The work is practically a monologue of Ross through the telephone, demonstrating the mastery of Mamet as a dialogist and the experience of Sacristán to endow the character with the tone it requires at all times. XXII Fira de Teatre de Manacor.
