Monsieur Doumani

Described by The Guardian newspaper as one of the most entertaining, reliable and inventive groups on the music scene, the Cypriot group Monsieur Doumani arrives at Ses Voltes to prove it at the Cançons de la Mediterrània 2022 festival.

The Monsieur Doumani trio was formed in Nicosia in 2011 with musicians from different musical backgrounds, but influenced by the Cyprus tradition. In their beginnings they adapted traditional pieces from the country giving them a contemporary sound. On their fourth and last album, Pissourin (2021), they direct their Mediterranean sounds towards psychedelia and avant-folk.

Monsieur Doumani was the winner of the Best Group award at the 2019 Songlines Music Awards.
