The first concert of Festival Música Clàssica d’Hivern is dedicated to the figure of Italian composer Nino Rota (1911-1979). Although he composed eleven operas throughout his life - including Napoli milionaria!, one of the most important national operas-, Rota is primarily remembered for his work for the cinema, responsible for the soundtracks of several films of Federico Fellini (La Strada, La Dolce Vita, Otto e mezzo and Amacord), Luchino Visconti (The Leopard, etc.), Franco Zeffirelli (Romeo and Juliet) or Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather), among others.
This monograph devoted to his music, which includes the projection of a video, will be led by Cross Over Palma Ensemble, a group formed by Carmen Jaime (voice), Francesc Blanco (piano), Enrique Pastor (violin), Chema Bestard (tuba, trombone and clarinet), Salvador Font (drums) and Maria Victoria Cortes (piano).
