Laura Borràs, professor of comparative literature at the University of Barcelona, is responsible for conducting this series of lectures highlighting the validity and relevance of the classics, in a time when the economic crisis also involves a crisis of values. For this specialist, reading classic authors is a space for reflection on the human condition.
It is celebrated at CaixaForum Palma from September 27 to October 25 with a total of five conferences:
27.09.2012: An introduction to reading. Validity and relevance of the classics
04.10.2012: Sophocles' Oedipus: a tragedy of knowledge
11.10.2012: The Unknown Masterpiece by Balzac: creation and destruction. When is a painting finished?
