This chant is one of the few living examples of medieval folklore which only survives in Mallorca and Alghero, city of the Italian island of Sardinia where Catalan is spoken. It is celebrated in the churches of Mallorca on the Christmas Eve church service. The Cant de la Sibil·la (Song of the Sibyl) was declared Immaterial Heritage by UNESCO in 2010.
