The young Galician drummer Miguel Lamas (Ferrol, 1993) is a precocious musician. With four years old he was already trying to reach the pedals, timbales and plates at the same time, something virtually impossible. In those years he already wanted to emulate his admired uncle Colás Lage, a reputed Galician drummer.
He debuted in public at age six and at age eight started participating in summer festivals, while being formed at the Conservatory of Classical Music of Ferrol.
In all this time, Miguel Lamas has worked with artists and bands like Raimundo Amador, Miguel Rios, Tomatito, La Susi, Pepe Bao, Rafa Kas, Dean Bowman (Screaming Headless Torsos), Roy Hargrove and Paul Bicho ,, both live and in the studio and practicing as producer on some of the albums. He also has personal projects like jazz trio fussion 1045, with Iago Mouriño and Octavio Vargas.
Miguel Lamas closes the new edition of Alcúdiajazz, , the XVI Festival de Jazz d'Alcúdia offers five concerts until September 23.
