The Es Baluard museum sits on a fortress built four centuries ago by the Renaissance engineer Giovan Giacomo Paleari Fratino, who devised multiple fortifications in the Mediterranean and in the heart of Europe.
The exhibition Memory of defense: physical and mental architectures aims to open a reflection from our contemporaneity around the need to introduce architectural, physical and mental elements, in order to justify political actions that augur protection. Following this approach, you ask yourself from what or from whom do we protect ourselves?
