With Coplas de madrugá (1997), Martirio and the great Cadiz pianist Chano Domínguez dazzled the world by reinterpreting classic couplets with jazz arrangements, opening a fusion path that other artists then followed, giving rise to the rebirth of the couplet.
A few years later they gave it a twist with Acoplados (2004), with arrangements for symphony orchestra and Big Band, and in 2018 they got back together to review the songbook of the Cuban composer and performer Ignacio Villa 'Bola de Nieve' (1911- 1971), resulting in this show that they now present at the Jazz Voyeur Festival closing the present 12 edition.
The concert A Bola de Nieve, which will be the new album by Martirio and Chano Domínguez, is based on the repertoire of the great singer, pianist and composer Bola de Nieve, one of the greatest musicians that Cuban music has given.
The XII Jazz Voyeur Festival is held from October to December and programs six concerts, four screenings, five Master Classes and a Q&A session (questions and answers) with Martirio.
