The mezzo-soprano from Madrid María José Montiel and Mallorcan pianist Miquel Estelrich close the 58è Festival de Pollença with a tribute to the Mallorcan composer Miquel Canpllonch (Pollença, 1861-1935).
Following her acclaimed performance of Carmen, María Jose Montiel has performed at theaters in Switzerland, Italy, Russia, Germany, France and Japan. She's National Music Prize 2015.
For his part, Miquel Estelrich is known for the recovery and dissemination of works of great Mallorcan composers.
In addition to Miquel Canpllonch, interpret work of Clara Schumann (1819-1896), Heinrich von Herzogenberg (1843-1900), Enrique Fernández Arbós (1863-1939), Ruperto Chapí (1851-1909), Ernesto Halffter (1905-1989), Claude Debussy (1862-1918), Reynaldo Hahn (1874-1947) and Camille Saint-Saëns (1835-1921).
