La Virgen de la Salud is the patron saint of Palma and for ten days the city will be experiencing a great celebration full of activities: concerts, an Amateur Theatre Festival, solidarity markets, cultural and gastronomic Shows from the Casas Regionales (Regional Houses) and among other proposals an American party on Saturday 14th with a festival of gospel, country and rock.
On September 7, the eve of the feast of the saint, there will be a colorful parade of people from Palma dressed in tipical Mallorcan costumes that will be directed to make an offering of flowers and fruits to the Mare de Deu de la Salut, whose image is situated in the church of San Miguel. During these days there will also be a meeting of giants and cabezudos (big heads) from the villages of Mallorca.
