Manuel Rodríguez: ‘Manu’

Manuel Rodríguez directs and performs, with artistic accompaniment by Paz Rojo, Manu, which he is now presenting at the PalmaDansa 2024 festival.

The term Manu comes from Sanskrit. In Eastern mythology it is the name given to the first human being. The typology of the first avatar on earth, a visual representation, a return to form.

This project begins as an investigation into identity issues through the author's own cosmology. A space of invocation and enchantment. An opportunity to rewrite each of the letters that make up your name.

When he dances, his body moves out of phase with myself. He is continually lost and found.
