Manu Chao

Manu Chao is a maverick, rebellious musician with an overflowing creativity. His name is associated with Mano Negra a formation with which he achieved success in five continents, but has also gone through bands like Hot Pants, Los Carayos and Radio Bemba, and develop a successful solo career.

Currently he passes through stages around the world accompanied by the group La Ventura, with which he will perform in Mallorca. The formation consists of Manu (vocals and guitar), Madjid Fahem (guitar and vocals), Gambeat (bass and vocals), Philippe 'Garbancito' Teboul (drums) and Joan (accordion and vocals).

Born in Paris and from Spanish origin (his father is the Galician writer and journalist Ramon Chao), his music is a reflection of multiculturalism and miscegenation, with sounds and rhythms from around the world. Chao finds inspiration in the street and in people. Mixing rock, ska, reggae, rumba, punk and salsa, any rhythm has a place in his musical universe.

Besides the cosmopolitan mix of rhythms, he also plays with the combination of languages, lyrics in Spanish, English, French, Portuguese and Italian.

Batucada Infernal and Carabassamba are the invited groups to this concert in which will sound by the hand of Manu Chao songs as popular as King of the Bongo, Clandestino, Desaparecido, Me gustas tú or some theme of his new album La Radiolina.
