Catalan pop group that released their first album in 2008 with the title of Els millors professors europeus, work which Enderrock magazine awarded the prize for best pop-rock album of the year. Before long, the band, which features simple, everyday stories, became a sociological phenomenon for their successes of sales and a public which is not only Catalan.
In 2011 they released their second album 10 milles per veure una bona armadura, a title that refers to a sentence pronouncedby Kenneth Branagh in the film Much Ado About Nothing. In its first week on the market it reached number one on the list of best-selling albums in Spain, with more than 10,000 copies sold, something that hadn’t happened with an album in Catalan for over 15 years.
Manel now presents its latest work titled, Atletes, baixin de l’escenari, famous phrase pronounced by Constantino Romero in off at the closure of the 92 Barcelona Olympics when athletes from various delegations took the field during the performance of Peret y Los Manolos.
