Tangram is the third album of the quartet led by pianist and composer Manel Camp, a musician who has stood out in all registers from classical music to jazz, through traditional music, fusion or Nova Cançó. He presents it at the I Festival Jazz Palma, which today closes.
The title chosen for this work, Tangram, is an ancient Chinese game that consists of forming silhouettes of figures with seven pieces. From the number 7 - seven tracks, seven notes of the musical Scale, etc. -, the album works like a game of combinations. The pieces dialogue with each other in the same way that musicians do.
Manel Camp (piano), Mathew Simon (trumpet), Horacio Fumero (double bass) and Lluís Ribalta (drums).
