This is one of the most interesting ensembles of early music which appeared in Spain in recent years. Directed by Mauricio Molina, Magister Petrus is dedicated to the reconstruction and interpretation of music from the Roman and Gothic periods.
Its first released album, which is entitled Vacillantis and collects Love and religious songs of the twelfth century, has been very well received. In this concert, part of the Musical Season of CaixaForum, they present In mare vitreum, a program that explores the notion of the Mediterranean in the songs composed in the Occitan, Catalan and Sicilian ports during the eleventh and twelfth centuries.
Magister Petrus is formed by José Pizarro (voice), Pepe Morales Moon (citole) Irantzu Zuasti (vielle), Cristina Alís Raurich (organetto) and Mauricio Molina (tambourine, router and bagpipe).
