'Macbeth'

The XXXI Season of Opera and Ballet of the Teatre Principal of Palma starts with this production of the National Theater Sâo Carlos of Lisbon of the opera of Verdi. It has musical direction of Andres Salado and staging by Elena Barbalich, who assumes the psychic complexity of the Shakespearean characters. Macbeth is an opera in four acts with music by Giuseppe Verdi and Italian libretto by Francesco Maria Piave and Andrea Maffei premiered in Florence in 1947. It was the first of William Shakespeare's works that he adapted to the scene and, as he wrote, Most loved of all his operas.
