The young concertist Lucia Barrero Oliver, on violin, and Alfredo Oyágüez Montero, on piano, star in the second concert of the new edition of the Deià International Music Festival.
Lucia Barrero is currently completing the last year of higher studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Mallorca with Professor Jose Manuel Álvarez Losada and Vicente Balaguer. She has performed as soloist on different occasions under the direction of Josep Vicent, Felipe Aguirre or Bernat Quetglas.
She has won different prizes, such as the II Rafael Nadal Music Competition by Ágora Portals, which allowed her to debut in 2014 as a soloist with the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra. She is member of the Academy of the Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands and also of the Young National Orchestra of Spain.
The program consists of Sonata in Sol M K301, by W. A. Mozart; Estela, by José María Núñez; Habanera Op. 21 No. 2, from Sarasate; And Sonata Pimpante, by J. Rodrigo (Allegro, Adagio - Allegro vivace, Allegro Molto).
Deià International Music Festival, with artistic direction by Alfredo Oyágüez Montero (Madrid, 1967), is celebrated from May 4 to October 5 with concerts in la Sala de Música de la Casa Museu de Son Marroig, one of the Old properties of the Archduke Luis Salvador in the Serra de Tramuntana. From its terraces you can see a spectacular sunset over the sea.
