Caamaño & Ameixeiras is a root music and dance duo formed in 2018 by Sabela Caamaño (chromatic accordion) and Antía Ameixeiras (violin and voice). Quitar o Aire it is their latest album, which they now present at the Casa Museu Llorenç Villalonga as part of the program La lluna en vers of the Fundació Mallorca Literària.
Mainly instrumental in nature, although they also incorporate some curiously chosen vocal themes, Caamaño & Ameixeiras takes tradition as its starting point, understood as constantly changing, to later create its own language, with intimate personal compositions and arrangements that maintain the essence of what popular, but incorporating contemporary resources.
