This first edition of the festival / short film competition KontraBando is aimed at amateurs aged between 13 and 18. The goal is to promote youth involvement in the filmmaking process and encourage creative proposals from the Balearic area, even though it is open for young people from all over spain.
The films must have a maximum duration of seven minutes, the language may be in Spanish or Catalan (any other language is allowed, but it must be provided with subtitles from one of these two languages) and is free subject and genre. The deadline for submission of work ends on November 5, 2014.
KontraBando Film Festival will organize activities and workshops parallel to the exhibition, with the idea of becoming a meeting point for young people with cultural and audiovisual curiosities.
The festival is held from 8th to 13th December in CineCiutat. The last day will be a Gala awards ceremony and an open pass with the finalists short films.
