The flamenco dancer Karen Lugo was born in Jalisco, Mexico, and at the age of four she began to study Spanish dance: first classical, until reaching flamenco. She has been awarded several prizes, obtaining the first prize of flamenco dance of the International Festival of Almería, first prize of choreography of the Festival Contemporary Flamenco of Finland and third prize of choreography of the XVII Contest of Spanish Dance and Flamenco of Madrid. She has also made forays into cinema, participating in the film Flamenco by Carlos Saura.
