Karen Lugo, ‘Flamenco Territorio DeMente’

A show by this prestigious Mexican dancer who will perform accompanied by Naike Ponce (vocals) and José Murcia (percussion) within the cycle Sent el patrimoni (Feel the heritage) and the first cycle organized by the association Flamenco Red Balear. With an established career in the world of dance, in 2011 the artist premiered Flamencuara in Israel, and a year later she was invited by Juan Carlos Lerida to participate in the research residency Empirical Flamenco Festival del Mercat de les Flors of Barcelona.

Karen Lugo has also participated as a soloist in the XIV Muestra de Flamenco de los Veranos del Corral de Granada, and as a guest artist in the Tablao Corral de la Moreria of the Festival Suma Flamenca. She has collaborated in the piece Ojos de brujo at festivals in Spain and France.

As a soloist, she took the stage at the Tchaikoysky Concert Hall in Moscow with Dressed to dance, under the direction of Carlos Chamorro, and in 2012 her show opened in Seattle titled Flamenco, Flamenco, territorio DeMente, which she then took on tour to cities like Olympia, Los Angeles and Washington.
