El jueus a Mallorca (Jews in Mallorca) is the conference that will be delivered by Carme Riera (Palma, 1948), Mallorcan Professor of Literature, screenwriter and author.
She moves in all literary genres, from intrigue and mystery to historical narrative. She spent several years researching the xueta environment (name of the Jews of Majorca) to write Dins el darrer blau (The last blue), a play based on real events that occurred between 1688 and 1691, when a group of crypto-Jews wanted to escape from the island and some of them were arrested and sentenced to the stake by the Inquisition.
