With this exhibition, the Museum of Pollença honors Josep Vives Campomar, considered one of the best artists of Menorca today. The exhibition is held on the occasion of the fair which takes place from November 8 to 10 in this picturesque enclave of northern Mallorca.
Since childhood, Josep Vives Campomar (Mahon, 1940) has maintained close ties with Pollença, where his father Joan Vives Llull (1901-1982) spent time with family and painted in a booth of the port, near where Josep lives now. He studied in Barcelona and in the seventies he went to Italy, learning the techniques of engraving. His work gravitates between the still life and landscape, in it he transfers reality to his own particular world.
