The Ajuntament of Santanyí celebrates the reopening to the public of Es Fortí de Cala d'Or with a day of open doors to visit this emblematic, recently rehabilitated fortress of the municipality.
Rectangular in plan, Es Fortí was one of the facilities that had to be rebuilt in 1793 because of the destruction caused by a great sea wave that entered Santanyí. It stands out for the embrasures located in the area that faces the sea, being one of the few military works of this kind in Malorca.
With its reopening, Es Fortí de Cala d'Or has become a multifunctional center for different public events.
Climb up to the terraces to see Palma from above: bay, bell tower, flying buttresses and rose window (guided tours in shifts)
