He was born in Mauritius and soon moved with his family to Australia, where he studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under the tutelage of Josephine Bell and Igor Hmelnitsky. Jean-Bernard Marie continued his piano studies in Paris with Venstislav Yankoff, winning the Premier Prix, and later in London with Geoffrey Parsons.
From there he began an international career that has taken him to stages in the United States, France, United Kingdom, Cuba and Spain. He not only gives concerts as a soloist, as well as accompanying Lieder, in chamber ensembles and large orchestras.
Now he comes to Mallorca to offer a charity concert at the Auditori d'Alcúdia to benefit the Friends of Buba. The proceeds will go to the reconstruction of a clinic on the outskirts of Dakar (Senegal), which was devastated by a storm in early September. Jean-Bernard Marie dedicates the concert to the figure of Mozart.
