This instrumental orchestra, founded in 1997, is formed by five musicians and soloists of the Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra. They are: Sebastian Pietsch (saxophone and bassoon), Richard Mosthaf (didgeridoo and alphorn), Thomas Hoffmann (alphorn and French horn), Bernd Voguel (percussion) and Matthias Dressler (marimba, percussion).
They play a mixture of composed and improvised music, which bind styles ranging from classical to blues, jazz and folk. They use original instruments from various cultures of the world, like the alphorn, also called alpine horn, or the didgeridoo, a wooden instrument of the Australian Aborigines.
Jacaranda Ensemble Concert X closes the Mallorca Music Festival season.
