Open days at the Casa Museu Pare Ginard in Sant Joan on the ocassion of the Balearic Islands Day. Rafael Ginard (1899-1912) was a Majorcan priest who worked intensely to spread the Majorcan folklore and traditions. His masterpiece, Cançoner popular de Mallorca (Popular songbook of Mallorca), is the fruit of more than four decades of research.
This house museum is the birthplace of the famous folklorist and writer, where he lived until age 13, when he moved to Artà to start his ecclesiastical studies. This is a typical Mallorcan farm house built during the second half of the nineteenth century. From that time the mill is preserved blood mill (1864), the wine press (1884), the cistern (1876) and cowshed (1902).
