The Asturian pianist Isaac Turienzo opens the XX Festival AlcúdiaJazz 2020 with his piano solo Pensant amb Tete, a project where he reflects on the figure of maestro Tete Montoliu in an intense exercise full of musicality.
Isaac Turienzo (Jijón, 1961) has a fruitful professional career as a jazz pianist behind him. He is an intense pianist with exceptional spirituality, possessed of an extraordinary sense of rhythm and an innate ability for improvisation. His piano concerts only become an exciting experience because of the intensity and quality of his performances.
After Tete Montoliu's death in 1997, Turienzo participated in the tribute to the Catalan pianist held at the Colegio Mayor San Juan Evangelista in Madrid under the title Pianos para Tete. In addition, he has made successive tours of Europe with the musicians who made up the last Montoliu trio (Horacio Fumero and Peer Wyboris) offering tributes to the maestro.
