The Menorcan baritone Joan Pons climbs back on stage in this cycle that combines a concert program with tasting of products of the earth. Considered one of the best baritones of our time, on July 31 he said goodbye to the world of opera with the performance of Aida at the Gran Teatre del Liceu of Barcelona, where he debuted with the same work 42 years ago.
If then he was only one of the chorus singers, he has now closed his career with the interpretation of Amonasro, the Ethiopian king of the suffering female protagonist. In this first concert after his departure, in the beautiful and spectacular setting of the Santuari Gràcia of Llucmajor, Joan Pons (Ciutadella, 1946) performs accompanied on piano by his daughter Joana Pons.
