The llonguet is a typical bagel of Palma, protagonist of bocadillos served in most bars in town. In fact, the rest of Mallorca calls the people of Palma llonguets, and last year a fun campaign called Orgull llonguet was launched on facebook, to save this essential piece of culinary heritage of Palma.
This year, the Association of Residents of Pil·larí organizes the first edition of the Fira del llonguet, a tribute to this bakery product of high quality. Collaborating the associación Fornes i Pastissers de les Illes Balears and the city council of Palma.
The show is presented as a showcase of traditional food products of the Balearic Islands, with the llonguet as the main protagonist. It will feature over fifty stalls and thirteen furnaces and throughout the day there will be activities such as contests, demonstrations, lectures and musical performances.
Tià llonguet is the mascot of the fair, designed by the famous cartoonist and illustrator from Palma Rafel Vaquer, creator, among other series, of Johnny Roqueta, published in Cul de Sac, El Jueves and Solo Moto.
