Huialfàs Ensemble

Huialfàs Ensemble is an orchestra led by Miquel Bennàssar that revives the work tunes of Mallorca in a jazz and experimental key. Huialfàs Ensemble opens the XXVI edition of the Alcúdia Jazz festival.

The project highlights the cultural and musical legacy of Mallorca through the prism of jazz and modern music. Bennàssar has carried out a research project to rescue the echoes of the melodies that filled the Mallorcan countryside in past centuries, and has arranged them for a jazz orchestra with a string section, traditional instruments and voice.

In Big Band format, with 34 of the best musicians on the jazz, classical and traditional music scene of Mallorca and Catalonia under the direction of maestro Sergi Vergés.
