Gereon Wetzel (Bonn, 1972) is the director of this documentary about the housing bubble and the financial crisis in Spain. He draws the universe of the absurd: a guard watching over empty homes, sheep wandering around half-built developments, a driving school that teaches in streets of an abandoned city.
Shortly after the housing bubble burst in the U.S., Spain suffered the same fate. Until then, lax credit policies, combined with hype demand had led to compulsive housing construction, especially for second homes.
