A mix of contemporary and progressive jazz along with funk / jazz is the proposal of Highlands Project , a group formed in 2013 that now presents its new album, Keepin'On, at the Teatre Principal in Palma.
The band is formed by Sergio Llopis (keyboard), Guillem Nadal (trumpet), Thomas Fontin (saxo), Xema Borràs (trombone), Joan Colom (guitar), Jordi Tugores (guitar), Juanjo Amengual (double bass), Teo Salvà (drums) and Rogerio Santos (percussion).
Their influences range from Pat Metheny, Jerry Smith and Chick Corea, to Snarky Puppy, Lalah Hathaway and Hiromi Uehar, among others.
Highlands Project has previously published three albums: Suspir, Skalanes (which was the second best-selling jazz album of Spain a week after its release), Live at Alquimia Records (2015) and VoiceOver Vol.1 (2017).
