Es el último largometraje de Jaime Rosales, un drama sobre dos jóvenes enamorados que intentan sobrevivir en la España actual. Es el quinto trabajo de su filmografía, que comenzó en 2003 con Las horas del día. Rosales fue ganador de dos Goyas en la edición de 2007 por su película La soledad.
En la presentación de Hermosa juventud contará con la asistencia de Javier Tolentino, director del programa El séptimo vicio de Radio 3 que por la mañana presentará en la librería Literanta de Palma su libro El cine que me importa.
