Despite his youth, the Chinese pianist is considered one of the biggest in recent times. His virtuosity and exceptional talent place him among the major pianists on the scene of today's classical music.
Haochen Zhang (Shanghai, 1990) debuted at the Concert Hall at age 5 and at 7 performed his first concert with orchestra. He has won several international awards, including the Tchaikovsky for Young Musicians (2002), the Albert M. Greenfield (2006) and the Gold Medal at the Van Cliburn (2009).
The program includes Impromptu D935 no. 4 by Schubert; Piano sonata no.2 in B-flat minor by Chopin; and Piano Sonata no.7 in B-flat major of Prokofiev.
