La Obra Social 'La Caixa ' presents this tribute to who has been called the first wizard of cinema, Georges Méliès. The exhibition looks at the whole of his work and the value it has had on the evolution first of film history.
The exhibition explains for the first time the cultural aesthetic and technical roots, of Méliès and shows us that the origins of his world are at the origins of cinema: animated shadows, magic lantern phantasmagoria, chronophotography, illusion, magic and fantasy.
In it can be seen projections cinematographic operating apparatus and unique items such as Méliès first camara or the original wardrobe of Trip to the Moon. They all belong to the Cinémathèque Française, which has the largest collection of drawings, movies, appliances, clothes and objects of Georges Méliès.
