Aurore Dupin de Francueil, Baroness de Dudevant and better known by the pseudonym George Sand, was a woman who was ahead of her time. Lover of Frédéric Chopin, with him she traveled to Mallorca, with her two children, in December 1838, residing in the Cartuja de Valldemossa until February 1839. That experience was reflected in her travel book A Winter in Mallorca.
As a parallel to the exhibition on the figure of George Sand, on Tuesday, February 24 will be celebrated a symposium with dramatic readings and musical performances.
