This formation began to take shape in the summer of 2013 between Tarragona and Mallorca and serves as an experimental laboratory for flamenco jazz musicians who collaborate looking for a unique sound. Now again they landed on the island to make a mini concert tour and Can Monroig is one of the places chosen to present a preview of what will be their first album.
Fronterazul is composed of Manuel Carmona (flamenco guitar), Samuel Garcia (trumpet, violin and flugelhorn), Marco Boi / Nene Maya (bass), Benji 'Habichuela' / Jose 'Murci' Llorach / Jose Tobalo / Jose Murci (percussion). Their repertoire is based on original songs, references to jazz and flamenco and jazz standards with a touch of flamenco.
At Can Monroig they present themselves in trio format, with Manuel Carmona on guitar, Samuel Garcia on trumpet and Jose Llorach on percussion. During the concert, the interdisciplinary artist Dan Norton will interact with the musicians through his projections.
