Fira de Sant Tomàs

The last fair of the year of Sineu has the pig as reference; An animal that carried out one of the most rooted traditions in the country houses of Mallorca at this time of the year: the matanzas (slaughters). This year, in addition, the Fira, which is celebrated on Sunday, December 11, has a very strong Christmas character, as on Saturday 10 the Nadal Fet a Mà market is mounted.

Sunday 11:

9.30 a.m. Departure from the City Hall. Parade to inaugurate the fair, accompanied by the Xeremiers de Sineu and the Colla de Gegants de la Vila de Sineu.

During the whole morning: Sample of Matanzas, embutidos' fet a Sineu, exhibition of animals, stands with local products and handicrafts, sample of ‘puntes de coixinet', meeting of painters and a small sample on playing and slaughtering.

10:00 a.m. Concert by Ximbomba Atòmica. Esplanade del Pes dels Porcs, plaça des Fossar.

11:00 a.m. Ball de bot: Copeo de Sineu. Plaça des Fossar.

12:00 h. Departure from sa Plaça. Parade of the School of Xeremiers de Sineu.

12:00 h. Weighing and competition of fatty pigs . Pes dels porcs.

12:15 a.m. Ball de bot: Brot d'Alfabaguera. Plaça des Fossar.

18:00 h. Exhibition of paintings made throughout the day on the occasion of the Trobada de Pintors. Esplanade del Pes dels Porcs, plaça des Fossar.
