Calvià celebrates International Women's Day (March 8) with this festival that revolves around the word sororidad (sorority). The RAE defines sororidad, which has become the neologism of 2018, as the 'grouping formed by friendship and reciprocity between women who share the same ideal and work to achieve the same goal'.
The Femfest Calvià 2019 is celebrated in the Sala Palmanova on March 9 with a concert of three bands formed one hundred percent by women: Aura Veus, Sweet Poo Smell and Desenterradas.
You can also see the photographic exhibition Rock & Fem, which from February 22 to March 7 is shown in Es Generador de Son Caliu and on March 9 in the Sala Palmanova. With work by Laura G. Guerra, Verónica Menéndez and Magdalena Gil.
