The most innovative ideas in the field of musical composition and performance are present in the concerts of the genius Turkish pianist Fazil Say (Ankara, 1970). For over twenty-five years he is high on the international music circuit, to become regarded by Le Figaro as one of the best artists of the twenty-first century. He has a peculiar form of presentation, which contrasts with the usual character of seriousness in classical music.
In this concert of the 54th Festival de Pollença he is accompanied by the Turkish singer Serenad Bağcan, now part of the National Choir of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey. Together they have recorded two albums, the last one released in March 2015 with the title of Şarkılar Yeni (New Songs).
The program offered in the Cloister of the Convent of Sant Domingo de Pollença consists of Pictures at an Exhibition by M. Mussorgsky and songs for piano and voice, by Fazil Say.
