Fair of Theatre for Children and Youth of the Balearic Islands

Thirty-one local, national and foreign companies meet in Vilafranca these days within the XI Fira de Teatre Infantil i Juvenil, which has scheduled thirty-three shows of which fifteen will premiere in the Balearics.

What is more, four of the premières are absolute: Domenech i Domenech, Teatre of Vellut; Circ transhumant, by the Circ Bover; Xim, of the Centre de Titelles of Lleida, and rSa Nuvia d'Algendar of Ferreret Teatre. They are represented in different settings, indoor and outdoor, as the Teatre Municipal of Vilafranca, the sports hall, the Park Josep Maria Llompart or the Plaza Major.

The lack of funds has forced them to launch this year an initiative that has enjoyed the cooperation of all the villagers, who have helped in the extent of their ability to finally make it take place. In addition to cash contributions, about sixty people, including theater companies and programmers-are housed in private homes offered by the people.
