The Tensamba festival presents Brazilian Fabiana Cozza (Sao Paulo 1976), considered by critics and the general public as one of the most important and expressive voices of contemporary Brazilian music.
With a career spanning more than 22 years, she has worked and collaborated with big names in Brazilian jazz and popular music such as Zimbo Trio, Monica Salmaso, Wilson Moreira, Leny Andrade, Alessandro Penezzi, Nei Lopes, Guinga, Jazz Sinfônica Brasil and Dona Ivone Lara.
In this concert, accompanied by Jurandir Santana, she presents a selection of songs from two of her albums. Starting from Bahia and weaving a network with other black musicalities from Brazil and the diaspora, the show covers rhythms ranging from samba to ijexá, chula and baião, reflecting Brazilian cultural diversity.
