The 15th edition of the Pianino Festival celebrates the 175th anniversary of the death of Frédéric Chopin (Zelazowa Wola, Poland, 1810-Paris, France, 1849) with this concert by the Uzbek pianist Evgeny Konnov. The concert will take place on October 17 (the same day the composer died) at the Cell of Frédéric Chopin and George Sand at the Cartuja de Valldemossa.
Evgeny Konnov (Uzbekistan, 1992) is a brilliant pianist who has received several awards and prizes. Among them, the First Prize at the 1st Clavis Bavaria Piano Festival, the Special Prize for the Best Performance of Russian Music at the International Piano Competition in Bad Tölz, First Prize at the Malta Piano Festival, First Prize at the International Piano Competition Composers of Spain, First Prize at the 2nd edition of the Future Stars International Piano Competition or the 1st Prize at the Maria Canals International Piano Competition in Barcelona in 2018.
In Valldemossa he will perform works by Frédéric Chopin, such as the Ballad No. 1 and the Nocturne No. 1 Op9; by Beethoven, such as his Sonata No. 13; by Liszt, 2 Transcendental Studies; and by Rachmaninov, his wonderful Sonata No. 2.
