The Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands, led by Josep Vicent, is responsible for conducting the first concert of the 51st Festival de Pollença. The program consists of Symphony No. 9, in E minor, 'From The New World', op. 95, by Antonin Dvorak; and the world premiere of Foster's Symphony, composed in 2010 by Mallorcan composer Joan Valent, -the new artistic director of the festival- for the documentary How much does your building Weigh Mr. Foster?
That same year Valent also composed the soundtrack of the short film Ultimo Beso en Roma (Last Kiss in Rome), directed by young filmmaker Carla Vadell and written by Lorenzo D'Amico, which has received several awards at festivals in Europe and the United States.
