Albert Boadella is the author and director of this production based on the free version of Eduardo Galán of Don Juan Tenorio by José Zorrilla. A key work in comedy - " but also with internal drama ," according to Boadella himself - in which a young female theater director intends to mount a Don Juan Tenorio from a contemporary perspective.
The modern director wants to show that the myth of Don Juan is somewhat anachronistic and sexist but in the casting she takes a risky decision, hiring the actor Arturo Fernandez - Historical beau of the Spanish theater scene- for the character of Commander Don Gonzalo. From there on a generational conflict arises in which the young actors face the formulas which the veteran actor defends.
Ensayando Don Juan Tenorio (Rehearsing Don Juan Tenorio) was released last February at Teatros del Canal in Madrid and in March began a tour that now stops at the Palma Auditorium. Next to Arturo Fernandez, the actors that complete the cast are Mona Martinez, Sara Moraleda , David Boceta , Alfonso Vallejo , Jesus Teyssiere and Chema Ruiz
