When Enric Pastor created the band, in 2009, its intention was to incorporate the violin in a jazz ensemble. With this original format and some of the best musicians in the Mallorcan scene they are facing a new stage with a more personal style, own compositions and his first album, Canvis.
Their repertoire falls under the Nu Jazz style combining jazz with other musical genres such as classical music and world music, forming the formation: Henry Shepherd (violin), Tolo Gili (piano), Wojtek Sobolewsky (bass) and Jaume Ginard (drums). Addition to tracks on the album, the quartet presents its new repertoire.
Enric Pastor & Co opens the new edition of Alcúdiajazz, the XVI Festival de Jazz d'Alcúdia which offers five concerts until 23 September. The first two are free; the remaining three are held in the Auditori d'Alcúdia, offering a subscription of three performances for 35 € (information: (0034) 971 89 71 85).
