This 2018 documentary, directed by Vitaly Mansky, uncovers the true vauses and consequences of Operation Successor, the political network that brought Vladimir Putin to power in 1999. It is screened as part of the Emergències 2022 festival.
With personal archive material shot throughout the year 2000 and testimonies such as that of Mikhaïl Gorbatxov, Borís Ieltsin or Putin himself, Mansky explains the story of how the current president rose to power and has maintained his position for more than two decades. Putin's Witnesses was chosen Best Documentary at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (Czech Republic).
The festival of ideas, projects and trajectories for a possible future Emergències is organized by the Palma City Council. It is celebrated from March 26 to April 3 and aims to be a space for reflection where issues that are crucial at the moment emerge. During the festival, the artist Amadeo will carry out a pictorial intervention in one of the flower stalls on the Rambla in solidarity with Ukraine.
