Els cossiers, and their popular dances, is a tradition that was recovered in Alaró over twenty years ago and since then accompany the most important village festivities. One such occasion is the event of la Festa de la Mare de Déu de Maig.
On this day they will dance in the streets that make up downtown Los Damunt and in Plaza de Cabrit i Bassa, they will dance after Mass, La Oferta. This square is named after Guillem Cabrit and Guillem Bassa, who were burned in the same place in 1285 by order of the Catalan-Aragonese king Alfons the Liberal for defending the castle.
There will also be torrada and animated fiesta by xeremiers.
